Lie: The Love and Terror Cult è il primo album di Charles Manson, registrato tra il 1967 e il 1968 esce nel 1970 per la Awarness Records in 2000 copie. Rarissimo, ne seguiranno diverse ristampe.
La copertina del disco riprende con ironia ed amarezza la famosa immagine usata dalla rivista Life per una sua storica prima pagina.
Lie è un album leggendario che pur essendo rimasto una chicca dell'underground ha direttamente ed indirettamente influenzato la musica degli ultimi trent'anni.
